Frequently Asked Questions about Little
Acorns Parties
Q. Are you doing parties at the moment David?
A. Well, regrettably I hardly ever have any available
time at the moment - I have two toddlers at home (2 and 4 years old) and
my wife and I both work part time so we can take it in turns to look after
the kids. If I am not running workshops then I am being a dad. This situation
will of course change over time, but not in the immediate future. It is
still worth asking me on the off-chance. Alternatively, I can recommend
someone else for the job if you contact me! Sorry I can't be more helpful
at the moment.
Q. How much does a party cost?
A. £80.00 - This includes a copy of the Little
Acorns CD as a present.
Q. How long is a party?
A. 45 minutes.
Q. What happens at a typical party?
A. Very similar to a Little Acorns workshop - guitar,
action songs, pictures, instruments for the kids to play, bubbles, dancing
and an appearance by my furry friend "Sidney".
Q. Can you do longer if requested?
A. Yes although keeping the children's attention for
longer than 45 minutes can be tricky unless you want to do a pass the
parcel or play some other games to add variety. We can negotiate a fee
depending on how much longer you want me to do. I do not offer a service
to run an entire party though.
Q. Do you bring instruments?
A. Yes I bring a box of shakers, whistles, drums, etc
for the kids to play.
Q. Do you bring Sidney?
A. Yes, Sidney makes a guest appearance.
Q. Do you bring the Bubble Machine?
A. I usually just bring a large bottles of bubbles that
I blow myself. Since most parties are held in private homes, the bubble
machine would probably fill the room with too many bubbles and I fear
damage to paintings, books, etc.
Q. Can we request our favourite songs?
A. But of course, I'll do my best to satisfy all your
requests
Q. Have you any suggestions about how to make the Little Acorns
part of our party run smoothly?
A. Yes, a few. People are often late arriving so please
book me in to start a good 15 minutes after the official start of the
party. Sadly music is not good competition against loads of toys left
lying around, so please try to put toys away when we start singing until
we've finished. Also some parents like to chat loudly when we're trying
to sing - it after all the kids' party, so please go to another room to
chat or keep your voices down. Best of all join in with the singing and
action songs - you'll enjoy it - honest! |
